PHT Pump Motor Speed Measuring Device for Embalse Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), Argentina


PHT Pump Motor Speed Measuring Device was designed and manufactured to be used in pump low speed trip in the Shutdown System 2 (SDS2) of the Embalse Nuclear Power Plant. The Signal Processing Unit (SPU) was designed on digital FPGA-based RadICS Platform and is qualified to IEC 61513 Class 1 and supports Category A safety functions.

The project was implemented to extend the operating life-time of Candu-6 reactor.

 

Window Alarm Annunciators for Embalse Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), Argentina

Window Alarm Annunciators (WAA) were designed on RadICS Platform and manufactured for Candu Energy Inc., to replace the obsolete equipment in the Embalse Nuclear Power Plant, Argentina, as part of the life-time extension project.


WAAs were installed to use in the Main Control Room (MCR) and Secondary Control Area (SCA) to generate alarms associated with the plant’s Shutdown System One (SDS1), Shutdown System Two (SDS2) and Emergency Core Cooling (ECC) system to the operators.

 

RadICS Test Specimen (RTS)


RadICS Test Specimen (RTS) designed on digital FPGA-based RadICS platform was developed and manufactured to support the qualification and licensing of RadICS Platform in the US. The Test Specimen passed all equipment qualification tests and has all development stages documented as per requirements of 10CFR50 Appendix B, 10CFR Part 21, ASME NQA-1-2008 with 2009 addenda.
