The April issue of the Bulgarian journal UTILITIES published the article “I&C modernization on RadICS Platform: a proven strategy for a long-term increase of the VVER NPPs reliability and safety” (Bulgarian: Модернизация на УИС на платформата RadICS: доказана стратегия за дългосрочно подобряване на надеждността и безопасността на ВВЕР). The article was prepared by Radics CEO Ievgenii Bakhmach and Quality Assurance Director Eugene Brezhniev.
Why many plants still select I&C partial replacement approach?
The article provides some ideas on why I&C system’s partial replacement is not efficient in the long-term perspective. In addition, it focuses on the advantages of plant’s large-scale modernization strategy for I&C systems using RadICS-based equipment. Radics’ successful experience of supporting this approach has demonstrated the improved safety and reliability, as well as reduction of operating costs in Ukrainian NPPs.
